Once in Syros, the visitor gets the impression that he travels from one time to another at incredible speed, in a completely natural way that will impress him deeply.

The island experienced wealth, prosperity and a cultural boom in the 19th century mainly through shipbuilding and trade. The island is cosmopolitan, open, elegant, well-groomed. Many sandy beaches around the island, beautiful little villages and landmarks by the sea complete the picture.
